My Gear
and how i started with photography…
I started with photography in December 2013. The reason is quiet simple. I became father of a daughter in June 2013 and i had only my smartphone camera to take pictures of her. But i very fast recognized that the quality is not that good and i decided to buy a “real” camera.
I found the brand new Sony QX100 was a nice small camera and i could simply attach and remote it by my phone. Picture quality is great, aperture starts from F1.8 what is very good for low light and the bokeh was also very nice.

But what was disturbing me, there was no flash. So i decided to buy a system camera.
This kind of camera has everything what a DSLR has (except the mirror) but is not that big and heavy.
After watching tons of Youtube movies about cameras i bought my first Samsung camera. The NX300. I have to say that this camera has everything you need. An APS-C sensor with 20.3 MP, A moveable touch screen and a flash : ).

And it even comes with wifi to connect it to your phone or directly send your pictures to Facebook or by email. The only thing what i was missing at the NX300 was a view finder. And finally i bought the NX30.
This camera has now everything what i need. And not only the touch display is moveable in all directions, also the view finder can be turned up to 80 degrees to the top. This makes it very easy to shoot from any angle and position without the need to lay on the ground. It comes with an additional wheel to switch fast between single, timer, serial and bracketing mode without the need to walk through all the menus.

And very soon i got the need to buy additional lenses. I started with the kit lens 18-55 mm, f3,5-5,6 which came with the camera. But for low light i had to buy the 30 mm f2.0
30 mm f 2.0
A very sharp and light sensitive lens with great bokeh. Also very good for portraits. Later i got the 10 mm fish eye (i love that thing)
And to complete my collection i also bought the 50-200 mm F4-5,6 zoom lens which is not only good for animals but also for portraits.

The only thing what i still need (beside a macro lens) is the 12-24mm f 4-5.6 wide angle lens for landscapes (i just got it today, bought it by Amazon : )). Currently i use the 10mm fish eye but the distortion disturbs sometimes.
As speed lights i use 4 of the Yongnuo YN560III. I trigger one flash by remote and the additional ones by the optical sensors what works quiet good and reliable.
